A sacred place of God's love,
healing and retreat.

The Facility

The main floor has a comfortable meeting room, dining room (that seats 20), library and washroom. The upper floor has comfortable sitting rooms, chapel, study and washroom. A quiet garden is being created in the back yard for sitting and prayerful reflection. The upstairs will be kept as an area of silence to honour those in need of quiet.

Program

Meditation Hour: Every Wednesday from 11 am to 12 noon. An opportunity to quietly invite God's healing presence into our inner and physical life. To include: music, silence, guided meditation. (free will offering.)

Taize Prayer: The first Tuesday of every month in the church sanctuary. 7 - 8 pm Taize is a place in France where for over 60 years pilgrims have gathered for prayer for peace and understanding in the world. Elements of the Taize style prayer will be used in our gathering, ie. silence, song, scripture meditation, intercessory prayer and prayer at the cross as we join in solidarity with the suffering of the world. (free will offering)

 

Spiritual Direction: Offered at the Retreat House on an appointment basis. Spiritual direction is an opportunity to have a trained director deeply listen to your story, attending to God's presence in your life journey. (sliding scale of $40 - 60/hour)

We are truly hoping that you will make St Andrew Retreat House your home away from home when you need to have a quiet time with God, or when you want to bring your group away for a day to tend their spiritual life.

We offer only day retreats with or without meals.

Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays at noon the St Andrew Retreat House Cafe is open and offers lunch at a modest price.

Retreat Directors

Wendy Passmore

Wendy has a deep love and commitment to her work of spiritual direction and retreat ministry and presently has a private practice wherein these ministry services are offered. Wendy's work has included residing at Mount Alverno Retreat Centre where as Director she offered visionary leadership, facilitated retreats and served as spiritual director for groups and individuals. Wendy's education includes a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto and a MA in Ministry and Spirituality from Regis College, University of Toronto. Wendy has been trained in both the Ignatian and Franciscan Spiritual Disciplines, and she is able to offer the Ignatian and Franciscan Spiritual Experiences. Wendy's work has also included: Co-ordination of a storefront Christian Drop In Centre ministry, Grade 12 retreat facilitator, wedding officiant, and Christian Education Director. Wendy can be available to lead your group's retreat as well as your individual spiritual direction.
