In 2007, after much encouragement from Rev. Phil Morley an interim priest Pam became a lay reader and has become increasing involved in St Andrew’s life. She is now the leader of the Lay readers, Chair of the Welcome Ministry, and co-editor of the Newsletter. Pam loves reading psalms and the prayers of the people and feeling close to God serving at the altar. Nursing home visits are also sacred moments. Pam graduated as a radiographer (x-ray technologist) in Liverpool, England and worked at Stevenson Memorial Hospital for many years, and now works part time at the military health services centre on Base Borden. Her hobbies are reading, photography, creating cards from her pictures, walking and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation, travelling and taking care of two cats. She has taken a couple of courses at Wycliffe College and has plans to take a couple more in the summer. |
