Catherine Machry- Deputy Youth Ministry Leader

Catherine is a returned resident of Alliston since 2000 and a member of St. Andrew’s church community for the past 6 years. 

After years of living and working in the big City, Catherine returned to the town where she went to high school, taking up residence in a century home on the main street that she used to admire twice a day from the window of her school bus.  She and her partner Tom never run out of things to do and projects to complete around a home built in the 1890’s.  It is a true labour of love, but one that Catherine’s profession as an interior designer qualifies her to do.

When she is not working on and around the house, Catherine loves being involved with many of the committees and groups at St. Andrew’s.  In particular she loves to work with the women of the A.C.W., to plan and cater for many of the special events in the lives of the church community. 

Also, her role as assistant Youth Leader, working with her partner Tom, gives her an opportunity to get to know and bring leadership to a group of great kids growing up in Christ and looking for their own opportunities to be worthy disciples. 

Catherine’s shadow mission, but one that she hopes brings joy and meaning to those who attend the weekly worship service, is her role in the choir.  Bolstering the alto section with as much joyous noise as she can muster, she uses this time each week to fill herself up, after assisting others to achieve their goals throughout the week.
